I am an avid fan of Melissa and have read every LIB book she has published, this book was different.
The story line was well timed. I had an idea what the problem would be but thought that it would not arise until over halfway through the book giving it a rushed solution. This was not the case. Blue and Lizzie's characters were so real and their emotional responses to the situation presented were spot on, I could honestly see this happening on a true relationship.
Looking forward to getting more of a Melissa Foster fix very soon

The tempo of the story was excruciatingly slow--- forty percent of the book was wasted as Lizzie continued to turn down Blue and obsess about her wicked secret.The romance was sickly sweet and there was not much more to the story than the love scenes.

The story is set in Cape Cod, where Lizzie is a florist. She owns her own successful business and loves her job. However she has a secret. She paid her way through college, bought her business, and is now putting her younger sister through college by hosting ‘The Naked Baker’ webcast from her basement. Growing up, her father suffered with ill health, and so in order to get an education she was looking at racking up thousands of dollars of debt and spending her life paying it back, with no hope of ever owning her own business. Her naked baking show has enabled her to have her dreams and support her sister, but it is a secret known only to her.

Blue Ryder is the big hearted hunk who has been pursuing her for a year. He’s one of the hottest and kindest men she’s ever met, but she holds him at bay, knowing that if she allows him in, she’ll fall hard, and then everything will end when she finds out her secret.

The book opens with her finally giving in to her feelings for him, and things go from zero to a thousand degrees very quickly. In a traditional romance story structure, the secret would be revealed and the lovers (temporarily) part about 75% of the way through the book. However here, the reveal happens halfway through. The second half of the book is about how Blue processes this news and what happens when Lizzie tells her super-conservative parents.

‘Seized by Love’ is a fantastic read that doesn’t shy away from exploring the patriarchy, and what options are open for women from poor backgrounds to get ahead in the world. It also deftly deals with hypocrisy and the emotional journey that both Blue and Lizzie travel. Oh, and it’s hot as hell! Blue is my kind of hero – a man who is upfront, honest, loyal, kind, and yet still all man. I loved this book and am looking forward to binge-reading more of Melissa’s work.

This was a close-up between just okay and me actually liking the book: the characters, for me, were just too unrealistic to really relate to them and their problems, at least most of the time. Lizzie's secret, and why she's ashamed of it, I can unterstand; her leading Blue on for such a long time, this to-and-fro between "I should" and "I want" was too longwinded for my taste and went on for too long. Blue as character - and dump in his family - was too good to be true. Repetitions in the narration, like Blue: I want to /should do this or the other, but she needs me here now, appeared too often, especially in the second half of the book.
Lizzie's reluctance to share her secret with Blue, so not to jeopardise the relationship, was understandable, so was his first reaction to it.
As I said, parts of the story I did not like, parts were quite good, so on the whole, I went for just liking it a little bit at least.

This book is about Blue Ryder, from the Seaside Series, and Lizzie Barber who is Sky's best friend and owner of the Provincetown Flower Shop. You can see from the start of the book the attraction the two have for one another.. The problem though is not the attraction but the secret that Lizzie is keeping from everyone even Blue that keeps this couple apart. When Lizzie finally gives in and goes out with Blue she finds it hard to stay away from him but in turn she knows that she can no longer hide this secret if they are to have a future. Once Blue finds out what it is will he love Lizzie enough to stay?? This is a must read book...you will not be disappointed!!

Melissa Foster is very rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors and I know whenever I start a new book that I will be delving into a beautiful story. I had been anxiously waiting for Seized by Love and it was so amazing that I think it's one of my favorite books by Melissa Foster! I absolutely loved it and the sweet and sizzling love story between Lizzie and Blue. My favorite series by Ms. Foster is the Seaside Summers series and this book takes place nearby and even mentions many of the characters that were in those books so I felt like I was back in the Seaside community. Ms. Foster is such a talented author who writes with such skill that I can easily picture the thriving tourist town, Provincetown, where Lizzie lives and runs her flower shop. For me, attention to detail is a big factor when I'm reading a book and Ms. Foster knows how to hit the nail on the head. Because of this, she has gained a reader for life!

I loved the characters of Lizzie and Blue and, together, they make an amazing couple. Lizzie owns a flower shop and at night she films her baking show, the Naked Baker, so she can pay for her sister's college tuition. Even though she covers her private parts, she feels like she can't tell anyone about the Naked Baker for fear of them thinking badly of her, even though she is doing it solely to provide for her sister. Blue is so laid-back and loving that she wants nothing more than to be with him but she doesn't want to put her show in jeopardy and let her sister down. After she tells her family and closest friends about it, she feels better except not everyone accepts it as willingly as others which adds to some of the drama in the book.

I loved this book and am anxious to read the next one in the series! Meanwhile, I still have several other Melissa Foster books to keep me happy and I really like how a lot of the characters make appearances in other series. I highly recommend Seized by Love! It was fantastic!
