Without a doubt, this is my favorite of all four books in this series. It's a second chance romance with the added surprise of a love child. And while Cooper and Cici's reunion and ultimate renewal of their relationship is the point of the story, it wasn't the highlight for me. Cooper's dark years was. That might sound odd but if you've read previous reviews you might remember a letter I wrote to an author in lieu of a "standard" review. It touched on the dark subject of her story. My affinity for persons drowning in darkness stems from experience. I've been there. I get it. I'm not by any means glorifying those years for Cooper. But I so appreciate that Ms. Foster wrote it, had him address it, had Cici listen. Because the man he is when they meet again isn't the man she first fell in love with. He's changed with age and time but he's stronger because of what he's been through. I think all of that is why he's able to accept his daughter so easily. It isn't just paternal instincts; it's knowing he's capable now of being the father she deserves. I like how this story is built on preconceived notions. I love how Ms. Foster obliterated those notions with honest, heart-to-heart talks between Cooper and Cici. This is a beautiful end to this series. The Wild Boys are an amazing, diverse group of men. Their stories are just as unique as they are. Yet several things remained true in each story: The Wild Boys work hard, play harder, and love unconditionally. 4.5* Received from Tasty Book Tours for an honest review

Another hot, steamy read from Melissa Foster. Cooper is a wonderful, sensitive character. He feels things deeply, whether it be the death of his father, the impact to his mother, or his feelings for Cici. Those feelings have affected him for so long and after years, he's finally digging himself out of the emotional hole he dug for himself and is trying to set his world right. Cici has been dealing with the impact of Cooper's departure for the past four years. I feel like I didn't get to know her as well as I wanted to in this book. And I was a bit perturbed at times that she allowed her lust for Cooper to continue to hijack her brain and what she knew she needed to do. I loved how the author handled when Cooper found out what Cici had been keeping from him. It was another reflection of his deep emotional nature and also the guilt he was feeling over how he had handled basically everything in his life in the past four years.

She saved the best for last. Cooper is every woman's fantasy. Handsome sensitive and a romantic at heart. Cici continues to wonder about the boy who captured her heart. Events beyond their control kept them apart. Can the hands of fate give them a happy ending? The connection between Cici and Cooper is the perfect ending for the final Wild brother. I received an ARC of Wild Boys After Dark: Cooper in exchange for an honest review. The Wild Boys After Dark series is not what I expected but has fulfilled every single one of my hopes for a Melissa Foster Book. Loved every book.
